[Marxan] negative values as costs in MARXAN with Zones

Dear MARXAN users,

I just started to use MARXAN with Zones 2.01 and wondered if anyone has gathered experience on the following:

How does MARXAN react if cost values assigned to planning units are negative? I have a problem to solve where conservation of some PU's would not cost money but actually save money, i.e. delivers benefits (or negative costs). When setting a cost threshold and this beneficial areas are included, the cost threshold should thus be increased (or balance of some real costs made).

Thanks a lot in advance!
Best, Matthias
